Wernddu Golf Club

On a wild and windy Saturday morning, 46 entries for the 2 Day Championship prepared to Tee Off. Only 2 players played better than their handicaps, both players with a 5 handicap,  N. Taylor (who parred the course) and R. Lawson shooting 3 under his handicap. The end of Day 1 had 3 players close to one another with the field being held up by S Davies in 46 position.

Day 1 Leaders

1. N. Taylor - 69 Gross (64 Nett)

2. R. Lawson - 71 Gross (66 Nett)

3. M. Powell - 75 Gross (73 Nett)

The second day had players teeing off in reverse order and the leaders having a ‘lie-in’ and teeing off at 10.20am. First group out (Tee off at 8.40am) included S. Davies, D. Moyle and S. Donnelly, so no lie-in for these boys. With the course playing a little tougher due to the windy conditions again, only a handful of players bettered the previous days score and the winners are as follows :-

4. L. Ralph - Total Gross 154 (Day 1 - 78 Gross, Day 2 - 76 Gross)

5. A. Turner - Total Gross 156 (Day 1 - 79 Gross, Day 2 - 77 Gross)

Nett Winners

1. R. Lawson - Total Nett - 138

2. N. Taylor - Total Nett - 140 

3. C. Sullivan - Total Nett - 141

4. A. Turner, M. Randall, G. Pugh - Total Nett 142

The top 16 ranked players over the 2 days qualify for the Club Championship.
