David Leadbetter: “scared” for Michelle Wie’s golf future
I was just watching PTI on ESPN. They quoted David Leadbetter as saying that he was "scared" for Michelle Wie's golf future. I haven't found the quote online yet, but her former coach Gary Gilchrist is really critical of Wie's parents and David Leadbetter in this article.
Gilchrist says, "If they keep doing what they are doing, there is a great chance it will get worse and worse. She was as natural, as gifted a golfer that I have ever seen, but one of the reasons B.J. made the move to go to David was to help her more mechanically. Unfortunately, what ends up happening is you get distracted and get addicted to the mechanics of the game. Now she has lost the feel for the game."
Wow, things are getting ugly.
