Fed Ex Cup finale turns into fiasco for Tim Finchem
Players will not be allowed to use any of the greens at East Lake in Atlanta, the site of the finale for the Fed Ex Cup, during the practice rounds before the tournament. The ban effectively means the players can't have any real practice rounds on the course. Even the pro-am has been canceled. The Golf Channel is reporting today that the greens are all burnt out from summer heat. PGA Commissioner Tim Finchem is feeling even more heat as the finale for the Fed Ex Cup is turning out to be a mini-fiasco.
If the conditions don't improve, the backup plan for Finchem may be to install temporary putt-putt greens short of each hole.
